PERDITION
Those of you who know me, or who’ve been following this blog know that I’ve been working on an independent video game for a little while now.  As of today, it’ll have been five months since my ruthless masters viciously conscripted me I excitedly signed on and started working on the game. Not that crazy.  I’ve worked the ol’ game circuit before, and each of those carts all rolled for six months, at least. The game is called Perdition.  Webster’s tells us (in case you didn’t look it up after seeing that Tom Hanks movie) that the word means “a state of final spiritual ruin; loss of the soul; damnation.”In short, its a game about being trapped in Hell.  And not some comedy hell where all the donuts are chocolate and you love donuts but hate chocolate, and not some ironic hell where its actually the person you hate’s heaven.  None of that hogwash.  No, we’re talking fire, death, smoke, roaring beasts, screaming damned, shrieking demons, the very ruins of civilization itself, piled in a heat-baked mass of stone and flesh and eternal suffering.
And the best part is, you’re not even supposed to be there. It’d be worse if you had a guy named Randall following you around.
Its an action platformer, but only in the loosest sense of the term, as in the game focuses on a heavy amount of ACTION and a lot of it will be set on a series of PLATFORMS.   However, there isn’t anything to collect, nor buttons to push or crates to shuffle around.
Its just you, the infinite marches and masses of Hell, and your slowly changing self as the environment begins to take its toll on you. What does that mean, exactly?  I bet it’d be so awesome if I told you.
Why AM I telling you all this, now, all of a sudden?
Because like any soft, squishy and pathetic collection of sad mortal sacks of flesh, we are enslaved by the costs of living and production and we need funding.  Money would help us open doors, and put the tools and software in the devs’ laps that they need to put production into full speed and start making something properly playable.
So we started a Kickstarter.  The link to it’s down below.  There’s more info on the game on the site.  There’s also a video.  For those of you who don’t know, Kickstarter is a popular-interest project funding and fundraising site to help people get cool projects off the ground.  Basically its where people say, “hey, we have a cool project, donate us some moolah if you want to see it happen.”  And that’s what we’re doing.  We have a cool project, donate us some moolah if you want to see it happen.  There’ll be a NEW video soon, as well as images and donation incentives and all sorts of lovely fun things to entice you into helping us out.
So check it out.  Tell all your friends.  Tell all your friends’ friends.  Then, if you really like it, pass us some bucks, and know by doing so you’ll be helping bring something really awesome into the world.
